When Nick and I started on this journey at the beginning of September, I remember saying to him, "You're weighing yourself every day?! Don't do that!" This is what everyone says. This is one of the cardinal sins of trying to lose weight...
Then, about halfway through September Nick managed to convince me of the benefits of weighing daily. First of all, now I don't obsess over my weight as much as I used to. I used to think about it constantly while I was dieting. I would wonder whether I was doing enough or eating small enough portions.
I find that using a spreadsheet or a programme that tracks weight to be very helpful in this case. I try to weigh myself first thing in the morning at approximately the same time, and record my results right away into my Weight Bot app and into My Fitness Pal. When I find the time (sometimes not for a few days) I then transfer that information onto a spreadsheet on the computer (you can see a copy of my spreadsheet on my "About Me" page).
There is a lot more to this, but I think Nick summed it up nicely so if you're interested in reading more about the good side of weighing daily, read his explanation here.
