I never thought I'd be the type of person who would get excited about weighing myself. Just the thought of the scales used to put me into a tailspin. No one who's overweight likes getting up there. We all know its just going to give even worse readouts than the last time you managed to convince yourself to check.
However, here I am, actually excited, and a bit anxious about weighing myself tomorrow morning. I'm actually looking forward to it. Why? I'm not really sure. I didn't go to the gym today. I didn't do anything strenuous. In fact, I didn't even leave the house.
Will tomorrow show me a good result? I really hope so! It did today. I was really happy with today's result of 0.4 kg down. Maybe I'm subconsciously hoping for a similar result. Perhaps my mind can sense the changes in my body. Or maybe it's just becoming part of my daily routine.
Or maybe I'm just excited to move forward on this journey. I figured out that I've now lost 26 lbs since the heaviest I've ever weighed myself at. For you Brits, that's 2 lbs shy of 2 stone!
I think that really I'm just excited about being less fat. And by being less fat I'm starting to change my feelings towards those dreaded scales. Thoughts keep floating around in my head, like what can I do today to get these same results tomorrow?
I like this feeling. I like these thoughts. I like how it feels to discover that new place on your body where you can feel for yourself that you've lost weight. It is all quite amazing! And it all starts again tomorrow morning when I wake up and step on that scale.
